Agreed! Representative Barbara Lee recently signed on to Resolution 786. I am reminded of how Representative Lee was the only member of Congress to vote against invasion of both Iraq and Afghanistan. She faced death threats, insults and hate mail, but decades later it is documented that she did the right thing.
Let’s show the country and the world that Oakland knows how to do the right thing, and that these tired xenophobic and Islamophobic tropes don’t work in 2023. I ask you with the utmost urgency to consider a resolution calling for an immediate cease fire, entry of humanitarian assistance into Gaza, and ending American military aid and weapons to Israel.
