Labor supports the Howard Terminal Project- As a Union member that has worked at the Coliseum Complex for many years, I support protecting and increasing good jobs for Oakland and surrounding residents. Please support IATSE Local107, Sports, Stage and Event Labor by certifying the EIR. Thank You
As an Oakland born long time A’s fan I recommend the Oakland City Council to certify the Environmental Impact Report. Please do not put this vote off for a later date. The Oakland City Planning Commision has already recommended certification. Binding agreements regarding affordable housing and infrastructure can be made after EIR is certified. Let’s move this beautiful project forward. Oakland deserves and needs this!
I wholly support and recommend certifying the EIR today. It's a major milestone and hugely important in not only keeping the A's in Oakland, but improving our city with tangible benefits.
As a small business owner in Oakland, I strongly support the Howard Terminal project. The ballpark will keep a historic franchise in our city and will bring much needed vibrancy and business activity to the Jack London Square area.
I am Jennifer Fothergill from the Northern California Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association. NorCal NECA represents over 100 electrical contractors, who employ local electrical workers residing in Alameda County. This project will provide hundreds of construction jobs, positively impacting the economy and, more importantly, will benefit the community. On behalf of our contractors, we are in support of this project moving forward. Thank you.
The new A's project would clean up the site and give us a destination waterfront for locals and tourists. I look forward to someday bringing out of town visitors to spend a day at the ballpark, waterfront and JLS. Please approve the EIR.
As a fellow leader and local CEO and employer of 100+ people in Oakland, I wanted to reach out to you and the City Council to express my support for the Oakland A’s waterfront ballpark at Howard Terminal. This is a defining moment, not only for the A’s, but for Oakland as a whole. Growing up just a few blocks from the Coliseum, I’ve been a fan of the A’s and of Oakland sports my entire life. But more than that, I’m a fan of Oakland. I love this town. I have built my business here. I’m invested here. Our community deserves to keep the A’s and all of the new economic and community activity that the ballpark and Coliseum projects represent.
Simply put, Oakland needs the A’s and the A’s need Oakland.
I urge you all to vote in support of the Howard Terminal Waterfront Ballpark Project and continue to show up to move Oakland forward, not backward.
As a lifelong fan of the Oakland A’s and more importantly proud member of the community, I would love for this project to come to fruition. You look across the bay and see a beautiful ballpark sitting on the waterfront. I ask myself why can’t my franchise and my team provide to us, one of the most loyal and diehard fanbases, something to look forward to. We’ve already lost the warriors and the raiders, I would hate for the city of oakland to have no professional sports teams. For a city of so much culture and personality, it deserves to keep its sole franchise in its city. Building this stadium would serve as a huge uplift to the community by generating more revenue for existing businesses, allowing new businesses to establish themselves in the area, and bringing joy to the people of Oakland, all while adding to the value of the city as a whole. This project has always had my full support. #RootedInOakland
Oakland-born, life-long East Bay resident and A’s fan - I wholeheartedly recommend moving forward with the requested actions necessary to make this ballpark a reality. The A’s, and especially, OAKLAND deserves this.
The A's deserve a new park and this will keep them in Oakland. This would benefit everyone, especially the city, the county, and the whole East Bay. This will turn Jack London Square into a regional economic powerhouse. It would be foolish to deny the A's this well-deserved ballpark. It would be foolish to drive away the last remaining professional sports team in the East Bay. Don't be foolish!
a) it provides substantial environmental improvements as compared to the status quo. No other comparable proposal exists. This EIR is of benefit to the residents and visitors of West Oakland;
b) this proposal improves connectivity and access to the Waterfront from West Oakland and Downtown. No other comparable proposal exists.
c) voting in support of this EIR does not preclude future environmental improvements to the district or Oakland at large.
At worst, this project is a great starting point for improving and revitalizing Howard Terminal and surrounding area. I support approval of the EIR and commend the City staff for spending three years to get the report to this point.
Let’s go Oakland! Community pride, a shared goal, wholesome entertainment, local jobs, creative outlets, and positive media. Without baseball, what do Oaklanders have left to cheer for? An airport?? A port?? While I’m excited about the Roots and upcoming sporting prospects such as a WNBA team, we lose history and national recognition for all the positive things that the A’s bring to the town. I love the Howard Terminal as the new spot for our team. It brings back the Jack London Square life of the 90s, where people could be out enjoying an evening and have upscale restaurants and entertainment (movie theater back then). Let’s make a change, let’s invest in the town, and let’s stake our claim as a positive influential city for our future generations.
I would like to offer my whole hearted support for the A's Ballpark development at Howard Terminal. As a long time resident who is raising his son in this wonderful city, I believe this is a once in a generation opportunity that will enhance the City of Oakland on many levels and for many years to come. I urge you to please vote yes for this amazing project.
Keeping Major League Baseball in Oakland helps keep revenue in the city. There aren’t other sources of tourism bringing people to and within the city of Oakland. Having a new ballpark brings renewed interest from fans as well as investment from MLB (All Star games, in depth coverage, other team fan interest).
This will help support local businesses and keep the city culturally relevant for the people who grew up in Oakland and the East bay, people who are proud to be here and aren’t fair weather transplants.
As a West Oakland resident, I whole-heartedly support the building of the Oakland A's ballpark at the Howard Terminal Site. It will transform the area in a very positive way. Oakland needs this development and I have confidence that all challenges can be mitigated for a positive outcome for all.
I work and play in Oakland and fully support this!! Thank you!

Keep the A's in Oakland! Howard Terminal has the potential to be the best ballpark in the world!
To the City Council:
Please certify the EIR as it will provide new life to Jack London Square and Downtown Oakland as a whole.
We already lost the Warriors to San Francisco, and we already lost the Raiders to Las Vegas.
Let's not make that same mistake again. Get this thing done and let's break ground as soon as possible!
