Amongst all the eligible cities in the state, Oakland has the second largest amount awarded in this grant, second only to LA County, and is over ten times more money than most other similar-sized cities. This eye-popping figure I hope demonstrates OPD's urgent and continuing need for funding, as well as it's success in asking for grant assistance. I am thankful that these grants are going to critical operational and equipment needs, and hope that the funding continues in the years to come.
