Recommendation: Receive The Budget Advisory Commission (BAC) Report With Recommendations Related To The Fiscal Year (FY) 2026-27 Proposed Midcycle Budget
The BAC is telling Council that Oakland does not simply have a budget problem; it has a priority, transparency, and accountability problem.
Before asking voters or residents for more money, the City should first prove that existing voter-approved funds are being honored, contracts are clearly justified, revenue assumptions are realistic, and services are producing measurable results.
