Recommendation: Adopt A Resolution Approving, In Accordance With City Council Budget Appropriations And Allocations As Adopted By The Fiscal Year 2025-27 Budget, Ongoing Cooperative Purchase Agreements Exceeding $250,000 For Citywide Commodities And Services Contracts As Set Forth In Table 1 In An Amount Not To Exceed Two Million Nine Hundred Thousand Dollars ($2,900,000.00)
I am an Oakland homeowner and voter who loves libraries. This Committee and Council have an opportunity to support the underserved community in the Hoover Durant neighborhood by approving the purchase of this building. Public libraries enrich communities by providing opportunities - the opportunity to be safe, the opportunity to get accurate information, the opportunity to find jobs and so much more. And all of the numerous opportunities the library offers are free. The Hoover Durant neighborhood deserves a library and community members have fought for one for many years. Please approve the purchase of this building.
