Sunday paid meter parking is a really bad idea for Oakland. It will reduce business revenue by reducing foot traffic. Bad for merchants and ultimately bad for the city.
Oppose Sunday parking fee policy - did this item come through PWT committee in 2025? Was there a thorough analysis? Was there a public hearing? Such a big change and there is no accountability, no comprehensive analysis, no economic impact study. Policy drives customers & patrons away from Oakland. Brings sales tax and business tax revenue down. Why come to Oakland and risk a parking ticket while I can go eat in Alameda or San Leandro and park all day for free
