The November 2024 election is soon approaching. Time is of the essence and we cannot further delay or have any additional setbacks to cement this historical measure. Our eligible youth voters have already missed the opportunity to vote in 2022 and in the 2023 special election for the school board. Berkeley has been waiting since 2016.
Approving the recommendation and adopting a resolution will allow us to continue the trajectory of getting youth vote implemented and to have the voter systems fully operational and in place for them to be civically educated and ready to vote.
Let us not lose the momentum to expand democracy. We would like for you all to continue to support our eligible 16-17 yr old voters so that they can vote in this upcoming election.
