The situation for Palestinians in Gaza right now is absolutely dire. The Israeli government has cut off all food, water, fuel, and power, and has indiscriminately dropped bombs without reprieve for six days. They are now calling on 1.1 million Palestinians in Gaza to evacuate the north of the strip to prepare for a likely ground invasion — a move that the UN says is impossible and would have “devastating humanitarian consequences”.
Oakland must immediately work for a ceasefire in order to prevent further catastrophic loss of life. I am grateful that my representative is one of the few bold anti-war voices in Congress.

Redevelopment is the guise in which Israel is colonizing and murdering the people of Palestine. I know there are a lot of local issues of concern, but this is also a big issue of concern to Oakland residents. This gets brought up multiple times a day when I talk to fellow Oaklanders. Please take action ASAP and craft a resolution in the strongest possible language and then share on all of your channels, including social media. Let’s let the world know that Oakland stands on the right side of history.
