In May 2023, when street paving near Laurel Elementary began, workers pushed an abandoned car to California St and 38th Ave. This car has become an encampment for at least one unhoused person. There is right of way blockage, trash overflow, public urination, public drug use and drug dealing at this encampment. We've reached out to MACRO regularly since May 2023 so they might receive assistance but the individual has refused help several times. There were many requests sent to 311 as well as the Dept of Homelessness. This encampment has compromised the neighborhood's public safety. Will someone take action to address this encampment, such as removing this vehicle from our neighborhood?
