Recommendation: Adopt The Following Pieces Of Leona Quarry Geologic Hazard Abatement District (GHAD) Legislation:
1) A Leona Quarry GHAD Resolution No. 2023/01 Appointing Oakland City Council District 6 Representative As GHAD Chair;
I am writing to oppose the reinstatement of the Leona Quarry GHAD fee. It has been the policy that the fee remains suspended as long as reserves are fully funded. Reserves are still projected to be 100% funded this year under current funding targets. Also, as an owner living in this district, I urge the City Council/GHAD Board to keep this fee suspended until the re-examination of reserve funding target levels is complete. Thank you Councilmember Jenkins for initiating the re-examination process, which has been long-needed.

There needs to be a balance of fees and costs that burdens MVV residents. Outrageous increases in fire insurance premiums from companies with billions in profits.
There is no balance when government entities ask for more $$ when they are 100% funded already.
