S2.25 22-0873 Subject: Emergency Rental Assistance
From: Vice Mayor Kaplan And Council President Bas
Recommendation: Adopt A Resolution Calling On The United States Department Of The Treasury, Governor Newsom, And The California Department Of Housing And Community Development To Fully Cover All Pending Qualified Emergency Rental Assistance Applications
This letter does not mention the significant and potentially disastrous impact of the shortfalls in the Emergency Rental Assistance Programs on our non-profit affordable housing management company. Please investigate and highlight this significant risk to our nonprofit affordable housing community and the disaster that may befall our most vulnerable and marginalized residents - particularly seniors - if a disaster were to befall and several of our large nonprofit affordable housing developers/managers had to shed their affordable housing portfolios.
