My name is Francis Calpotura and I have been an Oakland resident for 37 years. I have been involved in many initiatives to make our City live up to its aspiration of being "fair and just"--from the County's Lead Poisoning Prevention program, Oakland Kid's First, and working with the Department of Race & Equity. The Emerald New Deal will be an important addition to these initiatives that promote equity in Oakland. I urge you as our City Council members to support it and place it on the November 2022 ballot for Oakland voters to weigh in to end the War on Drugs. Thank you.
