2.7 21-0765 Subject: OFCY Strategic Plan
From: Human Services Department
Recommendation: Adopt A Resolution To Adopt The 2022-2025 Strategic Investment Plan Of The Oakland Fund For Children And Youth As Approved By The Planning And Oversight Committee
On behalf of Tandem, Partners in Early Learning, we wish to express our gratitude to the Oakland Fund for Children and Youth staff, the Planning and Oversight Committee, consultants, and all of the community members who have contributed to this thoughtful strategic investment plan.
As an Oakland-serving nonprofit at the intersection of social justice and early education, we agree wholeheartedly that young children’s healthy development from a holistic perspective is a necessary foundation for their success in school. Further, advancing these twin goals -- of children’s healthy development and their school success -- will require engaging families in a culturally and linguistically responsive manner to promote positive outcomes for young children 0-8.
We are encouraged by the collaborative nature of this plan, and look forward to continuing to work together with the City, OFCY, and other Oakland-based partner organizations to support children and families in Oakland.
