The middle of a pandemic is not the time for austerity measures. It’s time to reimagine public safety and refund our neighborhoods. We demand the city redirect the millions and millions we are wasting on OPD towards community violence prevention, housing as a human right, living-wage jobs with dignity, good schools, clean streets and parks, mental health care and crisis support, and thriving communities -- all the things that actually keep us safe and cost way less than policing.
