I support a resolution to oppose Prop 20 because it is immensely harmful to black and brown communities who have been unjustly impacted by mass incarceration. If Oakland City Council truly stands for racial justice and equity, you must show it in action by passing this resolution to oppose Prop 20.

I support this resolution to oppose Prop 20. Prop 20 is immensely harmful and will only further entrench the system of mass incarceration that has torn apart Black and brown communities throughout the state. If the Oakland City Council truly stands for racial justice and equity, you must take a stand and pass this resolution to oppose Prop 20.

I support Prop. 17 because our democracy is stronger when every voice is heard

I support Prop. 17 because it strengthens the political power of Black and Brown communities

I support Prop. 17 because my neighbors and colleagues deserve a voice in our communities

I support Prop. 17 because it undoes a long legacy of racially biased voter suppression and felon disenfranchisement

I support Prop. 17 because 50,000 Californians on parole deserve to have a say in the policies that affect their daily lives

I support Prop. 17 because California should live up to its ideals and not fall behind 20 states that do not prevent people on community supervision from voting. I have incarcerated loved ones who are impacted by this legislation, and who's voices need to be heard. It is critical that those most impacted by the criminal legal system and mass incarceration be able to access our democratic process, be able to vote, and have a say in the issues that directly impact their lives.

    Thank you,
    Liz Atkins-Pattenson (D3)
