I was deeply disappointed that City Council has not done what is necessary to move forward the fixes needed to address the Inspector General and fully independent legal council issues at the Police Commission. I hope that the data showing the inequities of how Black officers are treated will move you to get it done because when people wearing blue are mistreated we know it is worse for people who are not part of the blue line. We have wasted millions of tax dollars on federal oversight and lawsuit settlements. We are now in a pandemic with serious losses to revenue. How much more of our tax dollars are you willing to waste?
