18-2444 2) A Resolution Awarding A Construction Contract To Andes Construction, Inc., The Lowest Responsive And Responsible Bidder, In Accordance With Project Specifications For The On-Call Sanitary Sewers Emergency Projects FY 2019-21 (Project No. 1000720-2.0) And With Contractor's Bid In The Amount Of One Million Eight Hundred Seventeen Thousand Seven Hundred Fourteen Dollars ($1,817,714.00)
The City's responsible to insure the contractors work is done in accordance with project specifications, City regulations & Greenbook standards. Andes Construction Dan Mayorga didn't follow these provisions on the Melvin sewer project. Many violations were noted incl Inflow from step connection to manhole barrel!! Grade 4 & 40ft 5% sag in new sewer line which cost taxpayers over 1.5 million
Contract states: The City may in their sole discretion consider violations of any programs & policies described or
referenced in this document, a material breach and may take enforcement action provided under the law, programs or policies,
and/or terminate the contract, debar contractors from further contracts with City and/or take any other action or invoke any
other remedy available under law or equity
After the Melvin fiasco it's unethical to give this contractor more taxpayer money. I strongly urge you to debar this contractor from further contracts with the city under breach of contract
