Recommendation: Adopt A Resolution Setting Forth Oakland's Public Lands Policy Framework And Directing Staff To Return To Council With An Ordinance To Codify These Policies
I strongly support a new Oakland Public Lands Policy that will hold public lands for public use. Currenty, due to the dangerous number of Oakland residents who are homeless, public lands should be reserved for public shelter and no/low income housing.
Priority should be given to local developers who will employ Oakland builders for development of shelter and housing on public lands.
