My spouse & I are 1st time homeowners. We worked & saved for years to buy last fall (9/17). We still took the largest mortgage available & still needed some family assistance. For a variety of reasons, we could not move into our single-family-home-turned duplex last fall; the ability to rent our house was/is the only way we can afford our home until we move next year: we seek to live there with our kids & aging parents.

No cause gives us the peace of mind to know that we can remove tenants with firearms, drugs & smoking, & other negligence not written into the leases we inherited. We do not want to share laundry, a yard or parking when we have kids, if we chose not to do so.

You make the prospect of living in our home financially untenable. We now have to pay relocation, plus sizable lawyer fees for owner move-in (new since our purchase). You are proposing making us unable to create a family home, and likely to incur more hefty legal bills to even try. Don’t do this, please.
