Retain and rehab the historic Club Knoll for reuse as a library, police substation and fire station.

As previously noted in correspondence to the Planning Commission and what is in your package regarding comments and responses labeled OO. I would ask that you consider keeping the Old Club Knoll building at its current location and rehabilitating it to serve as a public library and given the size of this historic building to also include a community police substation and fire department station funded through public sources generated by the revenue from the Oakknoll project.

The benefits of public libraries as an educational and cultural resource are well documented. There is also an obvious need and desire by Oakland residents to have more than the minimum required public safety resources in the form of local community based police and fire facilities, particularly east of Interstate 580.
