My Name is Geraldyne DeBerry and I live in the 6th district of Oakland and a member of United Senior of Oakland and Alameda County. I am asking the Finance Committee to set aside $100,000 to fund the Meals-On-Wheels (SOS) program in Oakland, Ca. Meals-On-Wheels is needed to support our vulnerable citizens who can't cook for themselves. Neighboring cities such as Berkeley, San Leandro, Hayward are supporting their Meals-On-Wheels program and we are asking Oakland to do the same.
We as baby boomers never know when we will need Meals-On-Wheel services, so I am asking the Finance Committee to consider this ASK. Thank you for your time and Consideration.
